Infection Control In the Post Pandemic Period

All employees must receive infection control training. This CE webinar will update participants on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Infection Control Guidelines for Dentistry. In addition, a review of best practices for infection control in the post-pandemic period will be included. We will also cover the following topics: standard precautions, immunization requirements, work restrictions, hand hygiene, PPE, bloodborne and airborne disease, instrument sterilization protocols, hard surface disinfection, sterilization requirements for high and low speed handpieces, preventing sterilization “disasters”, spore testing requirements, dental unit water quality and testing requirements, and infection control in the lab.

Upon completion of this CE webinar, the participant will
• Understand how to set up a compliant and effective infection control program
• Know how properly manage contaminated instruments
• Be able to understand how OSHA laws and CDC Guidelines relate
• Understand dental unit waterline testing and compliance protocols
• Know how to perform an infection control audit of your facility
